The curriculum is intended to help ensure an appropriate quality of adaptation courses for foreign qualified nurses in Saxony. It defines the thematic framework with a focus along the concrete learning prerequisites that apply. At the same time, the content is aligned with the legal and administrative requirements in connection with the recognition procedures under the Krankenpflegegesetz (Nursing Act) for qualified nurses from abroad.
The task associated with the curriculum is to design the measures so that, building on their existing nursing competencies, they can convey to foreign qualified nurses a level of knowledge and skills equivalent to the German health and nursing training. It is also important that the teaching prepares for the practical placements and that the experiences and problems of practice can in turn become the subject of teaching.
Examination and obtaining the licence to practise
Together with the final interview, the adaptation course serves to establish that applicants have the knowledge and skills required to practise the profession of health and nursing (course objective). In line with the course objective, it takes the form of theoretical and practical teaching, practical training with theoretical instruction, or both at the Sana Kliniken
